Changes to the Board
The Counselling & Family Centre welcomes new trustees to the Board
The Counselling & Family Centre (CFC) is delighted to announce the appointment of five new trustees to its board. The new trustees bring a wealth of experience and expertise that will significantly contribute to the charity's ongoing efforts to support people from age five upwards through whatever life throws at them.
The newly appointed trustees are:
Owen Hewson – Board Secretary
An Old Trafford resident, Owen has worked in the voluntary sector since 2017 and is currently a Development Officer at Bury Voluntary, Community & Faith Alliance. In this role, Owen supports local community groups, charities, and social enterprises in Bury to achieve their goals, build capacity and become more sustainable. Having supported a range of governance boards and management committees over the years, Owen is proud to now be taking on his first trustee role at CFC.
Andrew Fethers – Treasurer
Andy, who recently retired from full time employment, is a Chartered Public Finance Accountant having started his career in the public sector with Manchester City Council. For over 10 years (allowing for rotation requirements) he has been on the Board of Salford Community Leisure, and from January 2024 was appointed Chair of the Board.
Penny Bullock – Clinical Lead
Penny recently retired as a counsellor and counselling supervisor after over 20 years, specialising in trauma. She worked mostly with young people, both privately in schools and for the NHS. She was a supervisor with CFC for six years and continues to deliver trauma training to CFC counsellors and other professionals.
Luigi Salzano – IT Lead
Luigi brings with him over two decades of experience in technology leadership and project management. As a Chief Technology Officer and IT Director, Luigi has worked across various sectors, including legal services, healthcare, and food service brokerage.
Eimear Strong – Marketing Lead
Eimear is a strategic marketer with almost 25 years of marketing experience. Eimear set up her consultancy business in 2019 to give construction businesses the best that marketing can offer them.
The Counselling & Family Centre is confident that the new trustees will be crucial in steering the organisation towards achieving its strategic objectives and enhancing its impact within the community. Their diverse backgrounds and shared commitment to helping society's most vulnerable will strengthen the board's capacity to lead and support the charity's initiatives.
Jonathan Moore, Board Chair, expressed enthusiasm about the new appointments:
"We are thrilled to welcome such talented and passionate individuals to our board. Their combined skills and dedication to our mission will be invaluable as we continue to grow and make a difference in the lives of those we serve."
